Characteristics of publications on Entrepreneurship (Social) in Web of Science for the period 2002-2011

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the literature on social entrepreneurship (Social Entrepreneurship) and entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship) in the database Web of Science, for the period 2002-2011 and identify which topics related to entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship are being studied along and the sectors which are most relevant (hot topics). The descriptive and quantitative nature of bibliometric searches to gather the characteristics of academic production. The main results of 1,167 papers analyzed, it was found a steady growth year on scientific production over the last decade, particularly in the following areas: Business economics (Business Economics), Environmental sciences ecology (Ecology Environmental Science), Engineering (engineering), Education educational research (Educational Research), Geography (Geography). Showed up as "hot topcis" hot topics or combinations of topical social entrepreneurship (Social Entrepreneurship) and entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship) with: Entrepreneurship environmentalpartner (entrepreneurship social and environmental), social (social) sustainable innovation (sustainable innovation), environmental governance (environmental governance). Finally, it appears that social entrepreneurship contributes breakthrough for economic and social areas, especially for public management, with new business models and management.
