Abstract

This work aims to discover the role of rural life in a context and extension of the Piauí village, located in the Piauí Cerrado, and as strategies for exploring a rural way of life in a specific context of rural life, and, investigating as such as the resources have access to and perception of territories as a resource. To achieve new goals as a basis for theoretical studies, the studies of Brazilian authors on ruralities and ruralities (Carneiro 1998, and Abramovay, 2000) and to deal with territoriality we will bring from Little 2004. The study was based on ethnographic research, in which was to note that in addition to marking the beginnings of the village (formed by cowboys), livestock has a guarantee of social and economic reproduction of the same, in the face of the evasion of labor.
