EFEITO DA IDADE RELATIVA: UMA REVISÃO NARRATIVA

Resumo

As diferenças de idade cronológica dentro de um mesmo grupo etário são chamadas de idade relativa, e as suas consequências, de Efeito da Idade Relativa. Sabe-se que a maturação, a competição e os agentes sociais são imprescindíveis para o Efeito da Idade Relativa. O estudo objetivou analisar os fatores norteadores do Efeito da Idade Relativa. Os fatores biológico, técnico, tático, psicológico, cognitivo e sociais influenciam diretamente na existência do efeito. Entretanto, sem o fator necessário, também nomeado “competição”, o efeito pode não existir. Dessa forma, tudo indica que uma possível solução esteja relacionada à competição formal nas categorias de base. Em suma, conhecer os fatores norteadores do Efeito da Idade Relativa é fundamental para saber lidar com atletas que apresentam desvantagens por terem nascido em uma data desfavorável com relação à data de corte da sua modalidade.
