Abstract

The objective of this paper is to present the Agenda-Setting Project as a teaching method for public policy in undergraduate courses. It consists in involving undergraduate students in policy advocacy activities, challenging them to influence the public opinion and the media, political and institutional agendas on the relevance of a public problem or public policy. The article presents the fundamental concepts of agenda-setting and policy advocacy, and the steps of the methodology: planning, orientation of the field work, and the evaluation method. The results are encouraging in terms of effectiveness in fixing basic public policy concepts and in terms of political engagement of students.
