Abstract

The case study AGESC - Public Services Regulatory Agency of Santa Catarina aims to lead students to develop a critical awareness of organizational structures (linear, functional, line-staff and commission) and quality of life in the public sector. Pablo, Augustus and Peter, are the main characters in the problem situation, they seek to restructure, as the aim of improving the management and organizational performance. The AGESC has experienced several problems, among them: high turnover, a result of low wages and also the lack of counselors to make decisions, which causes inflexibility in the administrative process. To obtain data were used without-structured interviews with the President and two directors. The case contributes to the discussions in the disciplines of public administration and organizations, systems and methods.
