Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the timber industry in the state of Paraná, analyzing the micro-state in which the timber sector has economic importance, in 2009. Through regional measures, industry structure, production is organized in a matrix, from which information is extracted and made calculations of the measures of location and specialization. The results allowed to identify the most important segment micro manufacturing of wood products, and pointed out the micro-regions of Jaguariaiva, Rio Negro and Guarapuava as wood poles and the formation of local clusters in these regions.
