Abstract

Sustainability is part of a new discourse of global organizations on environmental development, which started in developed countries with the Brundtland Report, where concern for the preservation of natural resources and the future generations is present. But the same report encourages a high standard of economic growth and consequently the use of natural resources, which makes the speech contradictory. For the current standard of living and consumer society, where new and questionable "needs" are popping up, does not hold. In this sense, there are some current "ecosocial" with proposals for innovative actions of social and environmental development, which are mainly based on the value of "local knowledge".
