Abstract

The aim of this work was develop a capacitive level-sensor for use in the feed tube to the “Irrigâmetro” to automatically control equipment for irrigation. The “Irrigâmetro” is an evapo-pluviometric apparatus recently developed at the Federal University of Viçosa to be used in irrigation water management For the sensor calibration used in measuring of the water level in the Irrigâmetro feed tube was used the print scale on the tube, graduated from 0 to 44 mm of water sheet, and corresponding to output current (mA) obtained through capacitive level-sensor implemented, resulting in a coefficient of determination (r2) equal to 0.9998, showing a good correlation between the sensor and standard scale used.
