Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the conservation and maintenance status of agricultural tractors of rice farmers on the western border of Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. To do this, we collected a sample of 71 tractors in three cities of the main rice crop region of Brazil, with a total cultivated area of 4,144 hectares. We evaluated parameters for the engine and its peripheral systems, transmission, wheels, panel, cabin and bodywork and painting conservation. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the tractors used in activities related to rice crops of the sampled region are in good condition and maintenance, regardless of the severity of the operations carried out in all studied farms.
