Academic League of Spirituality and Palliative Care: extension experience in comprehensive patient care in Cáceres – MT

Palliative Care (PC) corresponds to a multidisciplinary approach that involves a holistic perception of psychosocial and organic factors with the aim of promoting an improvement in the patient's quality of life. Thus, the Academic League of Spirituality and Palliative Care aims to offer this comprehensive care to patients in situations of illness in the city of Cáceres – MT. This work describes the routine of the extension activities carried out by the Academic League. This is a descriptive experience report with a qualitative approach of the extension actions carried out by the League in the first half of 2024. The extension actions implemented in the philanthropic unit aimed at redefining and valuing aging. These actions addressed topics such as spirituality, music, mourning, and death, with a focus on entertainment, moments of reflection, and humanization.
