Tutoring as a contributor in the medical education process

Universities, in accordance with the National Curriculum Guidelines (DCN) for the Medical program, are responsible for offering approaches that integrate teaching, research, and extension, strengthening students' scientific knowledge and bringing them closer to professional practice. In this context, academic mentoring emerges as an active methodology, serving as an important extension strategy. This experience report describes the contributions of academic mentoring to the teaching-learning process during medical education, based on experiences from a Higher Education Institution (HEI) in the 2023.1 semester. The experience highlighted how the mentoring program can contribute to academic improvement by providing resources that enhance confidence, precision, and interest in a teaching career.
