"Cine de Quinta": Cinema para além do entretenimento

The "Cine de Quinta" is an extension project created in 2017 at the Federal University of Viçosa, campus of Rio Paranaíba-MG. Since then, the project has built a space for interaction and dialogue between teachers, technicians, students and the city community through cinematographic works selected every six months by its organizing committee. Because it is a country town, the community of Rio Paranaíba lacks leisure options such as cinema. Thus, in order to fill this cultural gap and to understand cinema as a pedagogical instance, "Cine de Quinta" has acted as an important tool in the socio-cultural formation of the participants, promoting debates and encouraging the public to develop their critical sense. through the seventh art.
