Abstract

The research aimed to study the behavior and economic production of castor beans in production systems with colored cotton and cowpea in an Oxisol of the Brejo, subjected to organic fertilization. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Station Tea Garden, owned by the Center for Agricultural Sciences (CCA) of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) in the municipality of Areia-PB, the micro Brejo. It was observed at the end of the analysis that: there are positives effects of rates of organic nutrition on the vegetative growth of castor beans, var. BRS 149-Nordestina. The economics analyses define the best results with the application to 10 t.ha-1 bovine manure. Considering the systems of cultivation, both showed good results, but the cultivation system, castor beans - cotton color presented the best estimated economic results.
