Abstract

It was evaluated the inclusion of different levels of poultry viscera meal (PVM) on performance and egg quality parameters in the production of Japanese laying quails. It were used 224 Japanese laying quails with 129 days of age distributed in a complete randomized design, with four treatments, seven replicates and eigth birds per experimental unit. The treatments were 4 levels of inclusion of viscera meal (0, 2, 4 and 6%). The parameters evaluated were feed intake, egg production, egg weight, egg mass, feed conversion per dozen of eggs and per mass of eggs, egg specific weight, bird weight gain and production of marketable eggs and viability of birds. It was observed no significative effects on the productive performance and egg quality. It is possible to include 6% of viscera meal on diets for Japanese laying quails.
