Abstract

The technical and economical performance of a “Feller-Buncher” was evaluated in a eucalyptus plantation of a forest company in the State of Goiás. The technical analysis was based on operating cycle of each machine through determination of periods and movements, yield, mechanical availability and operational efficacy. The economic analysis was based on operational and production costs. The data were evaluated with the use of a completely randomized design, with six replications, in a split-plot arrangement, with the machine operating cycle in whole plots and the yield levels in subplots. “Feller-Buncher” had a production cost of US$ 4.85; 2.83, or 1.64 m-3, for a yield of 100, 200 or 300 m³ ha-1, respectively. The lowest energy use occurred in case of highest productivity.
