The objective of this study was to characterize accidents with tractors in some regions of Minas Gerais, allowing for defining the main causes and consequences. This work covered a sample of 389 agricultural tractor operators in northeast, central and eastern Minas Gerais. Data was collected by means of a questionnaire with closed questions to operators who had suffered accidents with farm machinery. This research found that the frequency of accidents with tractors in the area studied is high, where the most frequent accident was contact with the active parts of the tractor followed by rollover. It was verified that lack of training and unfamiliarity of the operators are the main causes of accidents involving agricultural tractors.Downloads
