Abstract

The earthzyme enzyme is a natural non-toxic substance for soil stabilization in road construction, this product being biodegradable tends to replace the base in road construction, increasing the strength and efficiency of roads in any type of climate and region, for a more sustainable development process. In Bahia-Brazil, the roads gradually suffer each year with problems in all constructive aspects, most of their causes and their problems derive from the beds where the bases and sub-bases of the roads are located. The earthzyme enzyme, which is a soil stabilization technology, which has already been used in several road constructions around the world, demonstrates a durability and resistance that can be a solution to the structural instability problems of roads in Brazil. Thus, the present work aims to compare the two construction techniques, the one used with gravel, in which the highways in Bahia-Brazil are built, and those that used the earthzyme enzyme. The methodological path of this research is based on a systematic literature review of analytical character, with a focus on the structures of roads built in Bahia-Brasil and others around the world using the earthzyme enzyme for soil stabilization. It can be concluded that this new natural soil stabilization technology for highway construction is a great sustainable alternative for road stabilizations, ensuring a greater durable and resistant over the years.
