Abstract

Phosphorus is the most limiting nutrient in bean cultivation, however this nutrient is low absorbed by the high soil retention power with this nutrient. Thus, studies with sources, doses and cultivars are important to improve the productivity of this culture. Given the above, this work aimed to evaluate five common bean cultivars submitted to phosphorus levels with simple superphosphate and ammonium polyphosphate. The experimental design used was in randomized blocks in a 5x2x2 factorial arrangement with five cultivars: (Uirapuru, Tuiuiu, Tangara, Estilo and Splendor); two sources of phosphorus (Simple Superphosphate and Ammonium Polyphosphate); two levels of fertilization (high and medium), with the medium dose with single superphosphate being 50 mg P.kg -1 of soil and the high dose with 200 mg P.kg -1. The cultivars showed genetic variability for productivity, mass of 100 grains and height of insertion of the first pod and the dose of 200 mg P.kg -1 of soil improved most characteristics of the bean.
