Abstract

The high volume of manure generated by livestock production requires the use of technological alternatives with a view to the management and treatment of waste generated by animal husbandry. One alternative that is attracting great interest is the technology of anaerobic digestion, implementation of digesters. Thus, the objective approaches the use of manure for biogas production by anaerobic digestion process. Swine production in Brazil has been developing more and more. However, it is considered one of the activities of major environmental risk, for lack of a correct management of waste generated by the activities, which are mostly raised on farms whose structure is outside the environmental standards. This lack of proper management can bring many consequences for the environment as to the actual development activity. Because the environmental impacts caused by inappropriate destination of waste generated and the emergence of sustainable development policies increased the number of companies seeking practices of environmental responsibility as management managed their disposal.
