Abstract

This study was done to analyze the effect of fertirrigation with swine wastewater (SW) on the nutritional status and yield of tomato. Tomato cultivar ‘Fanny TY1’ plants were cultivated in Red-Yellow Dystrophic Latosol in 21 drainage lisimeters under protected environment. The experiment was done a randomized block design with seven treatments and three replications. The treatments included fertirrigation with SW supplying different nitrogen doses recommended for tomato with or without the use of complementary fertilizer and compared to the control. The results showed that fertirrigation with SW at any of the tested dose, met the nutritional needs of tomato, and considering the qualitative and quantitative yield variables, application of 150% of the crop need with SW application is a technically recommendable and environmentally adequate.
