Production and application of plant pigments: a theoretical-practical workshop

This article describes the experience of the Forestry Engineering undergraduates at the Instituto Federal de Rondônia, campus Ji-Paraná, in the extension activity on the use of plant pigments in artistic paintings, for the participants of the “3rd National Week of Professional and Technical Education”, Brasília-DF. Through the application of a theoretical-practical workshop, it was possible to discuss important topics such as environmental preservation and conservation, in a playful and fun way. Throughout the activity, it was possible to observe an exchange of knowledge not only with the workshop participants, but also between the participants themselves, promoting the strengthening of interpersonal relationships. This project made it possible to raise participants' awareness of the use of natural pigments to make paints, which can be applied to artistic works as an alternative method to the use of synthetic pigments, combining well-being with environmental conservation.
