Abstract

The no-tillage system success directly is related to the performance of the seeders, the efficiency of its components. The objective was to evaluate the handling covering and the speed of sowing, with experimental design completely randomized in factorial array 3 x 3, and eight repetitions. The present work was developed in São Paulo State University in the city of Jaboticabal, SP, Brazil, with the culture of the soybean with factors had been the handling of the covering cultures, chopper straws, weeder and knifes rolls, combined with three speeds of the the-sowing, being 4.0; 5.0 and 6.0 km h-1. Had been evaluated: initial and final stand, longitudinal distribution of plantules, grain yield and capacity of tractorseeder operational field. The characteristics of the soybean and the performance the seeder had not been influenced by the three handling of the culture of vegetal covering. The variation in the speed of displacement in the operation of sowing did not intervene with the longitudinal distribution of plantules, initial stand and grain yield.
