Abstract

This article is the result of a bibliographical survey on sustainable development. The objective of this study is to prove the practice of good intentions related to the sustainability of the timber sector, combining experience, local demand and technical knowledge to develop new products from the reuse of reactivated industrial waste, providing satisfactory results regarding the environmental aspects and also economical. The present research is characterized as exploratory and case study, with structured interviews with the main actors. Among the conclusions, it is pointed out that the preconception, the immediatism and the failures in environmental policies are the main challenges faced by this organization, which has been creating in parallel a new product line in order to take advantage of its current structure.
