This study aimed to determine the physical properties of young Eucalyptus clone 1404 timber and compare them in relation to the region of the trunk from which the specimens were taken. For this, the guidelines of NBR 7190 (ABNT, 1997) were followed. The results indicated a humidity gradient in relation to the sapwood and heartwood regions, with no significant difference in density in relation to the two regions. Regarding dimensional stability, there was a significant difference between radial and tangential shrinkage, but the anisotropy coefficient showed that the wood has good stability.
