The tourist activity is considered one of the main employers in the service sector, however, there is a difference between being a male professional and being a female professional and, consequently, this factor influences professional careers in the tourism sector. The central question of this research is to answer to what extent scientific productions - theses and dissertations - address the intersection of the professional career of men and women with work in the tourism sector. In order to answer the proposed question, the present investigation has the general objective of pointing out scientific productions - theses and dissertations - that address the intersection of the professional career of men and women with work in the tourism sector. The investigation is divided into a theoretical conceptual approach of profession, professional career and sexual division of labor in the tourism sector and an approach on the intersection of professional career and work in the tourism sector through scientific productions. Through a qualitative analysis, the present research is exploratory in nature. Bibliographic research is adopted as a model with the search for data in Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações - BDTD associating the descriptor "tourism" with the descriptors "profession", "career" and "professional trajectory". It is pointed out with this investigation that only 01 scientific production adopts a sexual look in the production about the intersection of the professional career of men and women with work in the tourism sector.
