Abstract

Centennials, popularly known as generation Z, have attracted a lot of attention these days, as their members make up the majority of those entering the job market. Furthermore, the radical changes in the behavior of this generation in relation to others, as a result of technological advances in the ways of communicating and interacting, highlight the need to know them better, as they will be the future representatives of different aspects of society, industry, consumption and new working modalities, with emphasis on home office. In view of the above, the general objective of this exploratory research was to identify the perception of centennials regarding teleworking, especially to identify difficulties faced by these workers, and to identify reasons that still have a negative impact on the adoption of this way of working. To this end, we used a survey that obtained 74 responses, which showed that centennials face certain discomforts in this type of work, such as the lack of ergonomics and social interaction. It is concluded that there are gains, in the perception of this generation, that justify greater attention from companies when adopting home office. Due to the homogeneity and small sample size, it is suggested that new studies be conducted at a time when the hybrid modality seems to be consolidated in companies.
