Abstract

This work was done to determine noise levels emitted by equipments used in feed manufacturing. The study was done the Feed Factory of the Department of Agricultural Engineering of the Federal University of Viçosa. Digital decibel was used to measure sound pressure levels, in a radius of up to 10 meters from the equipment. In all cases, the noise level next to operator’s ear was high, however it deceased with the distance from the equipment. The total noise level emitted by the silo with grinding mill, transporter, mixer and all equipments functioning was above the permitted norms, independent of the distance.
