Abstract

This article is an excerpt from a dissertation produced within the scope of the Postgraduate Program in Science and Humanities Teaching - PPGECH, at the Federal University of Amazonas-UFAM, whose objective is to show a possible methodological design on the approach of ethnic-racial contents, having the school notebooks used by students in the early years of Elementary School as an empirical artifact of the research. For the writing of this article, we consider it appropriate to use the qualitative approach in a methodological perspective supported by authors who approach the analysis of school notebooks in their themes, it is, therefore, a bibliographic approach, and that has in the Cultural Studies and Modernity Group and Coloniality its theoretical lens of investigation among other authors that permeate this field of study. The results of this aim to bring to the local educational context, and in general in our society, reflections, and actions regarding the applicability of Law No. 11.645/2008 in relation to the education of ethnic-racial relations. The reflections presented here point out that the school notebook can be an important empirical material for research on ethnic-racial issues in the South of Amazonas, specifically in the municipal education network of Humaitá.
