Education and Federal Public Service: what to expect from the Lula government?

Abstract

The text is a reflective exercise on Education in the context of the change of the Federal Government with the election of Luis Inácio Lula da Silva. In general, it starts from the perspective that it is possible to expect some relevant changes when one compares the posture of the new president and his predecessor, in relation to the role of the State, its social function, and society. However, it emphasizes that the expectation of significant structural transformations is naive, given that the composition of the National Congress and the market exert significant force, if not decisive in shaping and determining the transformations of society.
