PCP: ANALYSIS IN THE MACHINERY SECTOR OF A MEDICAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER IN SÃO CARLOS INTERIOR DE SÃO PAULO

Abstract

The company's PCP (Production Planning and Control), responsible for scheduling and controlling production, in addition to coordinating the activities of various departments such as sales, production, purchasing, among others. The article identified bottlenecks in the PCP and in the machining sector of a BRD surgical cutter in a company in the orthopedics sector in the city of São Carlos, SP. Brazil. A bibliographical and documentary review was carried out, followed by a case study. The case study was conducted through a semi-structured interview with a company manager. The data collected made it possible to characterize a company and the manufacturing process of BRD. The result pointed to the communication between the PCP sector and the use of better structuring.
