Abstract

Distillation is a method used to separate components of a homogeneous mixture. In order to reduce experimentation costs and seek more accurate results in different scenarios, computer simulation has contributed considerably to the segment. This work aimed to simulate an ethanol-water distillation process using real data from a scientific article. Through an exploratory bibliographic research and using the software ChemSep, tabulated results of temperatures, enthalpies, entropies, saturated liquid, molar fractions and mass flows were obtained, in addition to a graphic demonstration and stimulated further research, especially in computational simulation focused on for Chemical Engineering.
