The scarcity of studies linking the practice of participatory management with motivational strategies, together with the interest in verifying how this process happens in pedagogical spaces, guided this work. The objective was to analyze the motivational strategies used by managers to obtain the participation of individuals in the management of pedagogical spaces. Qualitative research was used and, as a method of data collection, bibliographic research and semi-structured interview were used. Three respondents from the pedagogical space of an educational institution in the North Region participated in the study. It was evident that all respondents are interested in effectively participating in management processes, however, the study revealed that only the manager of the researched space participates in all these processes. It is assumed that this motivation has an effectively subjective background, revealing an internal desire of individuals. Which leads us, from Maslow's pyramid, that the motivation of the respondents can be associated with social needs and esteem needs.
