The present work aims to carry out an analysis of the labels of egg packages sold in the city of Barreiras-BA and to investigate the storage conditions of the product in the establishments, in order to verify if they are complying with current norms and legislation regarding storage and information. mandatory that must be inserted in its label. The work was carried out between January and March 2022 in supermarkets and grocery stores in the city of Barreiras-BA. In total, 7 brands were analyzed, being later identified from A to G. For the evaluation, a checklist-type form was prepared, by means of a survey of useful information to be used for the evaluation of the labels. Three brands presented the labels with the highest number of nonconformities regarding the criteria determined by the specific food labeling legislation. Brand F presented the highest number of irregularities, not including the presence of the SIF Stamp; expression “does not contain gluten”; class; guidelines that raw or undercooked eggs are bad; egg type; group; storage guidelines and nutritional information. Therefore, it is clear that, even with specific legislation for the labeling of eggs in Brazil, it is still recurrent to find brands being marketed that do not meet all the requirements established by the legislation.
