Reduction of time Quality Program 5SAbstract
This paper presents a case study regarding the implementation of the 5S program in a public library, in order to mobilize, motivate and raise awareness throughout the organization in order to meet the needs of users of the environment. It aims to explore the theory of the 5S program and apply it in practice. The theme was explored in a fundamental and important way to add knowledge to the students, and the application generated important results for the library object of this study. After a literature review based on recognized authors of the theme literature, which addressed the concept of quality and total quality before actually joining the 5S, an action plan was developed to assist the process of implementing the methodology in the organization studied. Problems were identified, employees trained, responsibilities and actions delegated. It took a few days of effort to deploy the senses without disrupting the library, and the collaboration of all staff was important. It is concluded that despite some resistances found, the objectives were achieved and the result of the work was satisfactory. These include a cleaner, more organized environment, reduced time to find books, changes in culture and work routine.
