ANALYSIS OF MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT IN A POLYMER PROCESSING COMPANY

Abstract

At a time when there are high levels of corrective maintenance in an organization, this indicates that maintenance management is not adequate for this and needs to be reviewed. A study was carried out on maintenance on polymer injectors of a polymer company to propose a solution to the high number of corrective maintenance. The MASP tool was used to compose the adopted methodology that collected data, analyzed them and proposed solutions to the problems encountered. In this study it was observed that the main problems that result in corrective maintenance in injectors are oil leaks, electrical / electronic faults and breaks. Being that the root causes for these are basically lack of task control, lack of planning and lack of training. Finally, an action plan for the re-adaptation of maintenance management was proposed.
