Abstract

This article aims to conduct a discussion on patrimony based on some assumptions of Marx's theory of value. The theoretical enterprise takes place from the understanding, as historical date the French Revolution, that the patrimony has as essential condition the transfer of value. By making a critical analysis of how the author Françoise Choay exposes his conception of heritage, understood as inheritance, in his work The allegory of patrimony, this concept or device operates in favor of the ideological dynamics of the rising bourgeoisie. In this sense, we seek, through the dialectical treatment between the essence/appearance pair on the "recovered goods", to perceive that the value of the objects in this social and historical era (capitalist society) the "recovered" (expropriated) goods is the result of the articulation between conservation and patrimonization. Since the unfolding of patrimony, as a process in itself, that is, inventory-tipping and patrimony, are forms of production and appropriation of capital.
