Abstract

Modeling and simulation is fundamental for Chemical Engineering. Through modeling and simulation it is possible to carry out very important studies related to system dynamics. Mathematical models, if developed in a correct and consistent way, can replace a chemical plant and allow the performance of computational tests that bring relevant information about the process. In the current scenario in which industry (not only chemistry, but all areas) is due to industrial transformation (Industry 4.0), modeling and simulation will play a very important role in the development of systems based on models. This collection of lecture notes is an aid to teaching modeling and simulation.
